I purchased this after I talked with a friend who has a child with down syndrome and a toddler. She raved about how great it was in improving both kids' fine motor skills and building hand muscles. My kids are a little bit older and don't have those issues, but I still thought it would be a good non-electronic way of keeping them entertained in the car. The pad is thick and durable. The quality of the two styluses that came with it are great, too. My kids were really excited to play with this, and it provides about 30ish minutes to an hour at a time of entertainment. It was perfect because there were two styluses, so I didn't have to listen to arguments about sharing. The product is great. I'd recommend it and buy it again for friends/family with young kids.
Purchases for a pincer grasp/pre-writing activity for my preschool room and my 9 year old and 15 year old STOLE it instead. LOL! Ordered a second set. This is a major hit in the classroom as a pincer grasp and pre-writing activity and also a satisfying sensory art project. Only a week in but it seems very durable and easy to clean. My kids also choose this in their day to “poke stuff” and decompress. Win-win.
I CANNOT SAY HOW AMAZING THIS PRODUCT IS ENOUGH! I am a behavior interventionist at an elementary school. I have multiple students I work with that have a REALLY difficult time sitting though lessons or a specialist class, and the main goal is for them to stay in class for the entire time without interrupting the lesson or class. I randomly found this tool when I was looking for things to help with tools for hand and eye coordination and dexterity, and this popped up in the search. I wish I found this years ago because this is the best purchase I have had this year. I allow the students to use these WHILE they are sitting in class and listening to the lesson, and this tool is not disruptive, it is not messy, and every one of the students who have used these have stayed interested in this tool for 40+ minutes and was able to stay in the classroom without interruption. It has decreased behavior outbursts for these students and have decreased the SOS calls for the teachers to remove the student. Anyway, these are SO wonderful for many reasons, but it keeps students busy (like a fidget toy) while they can still listen to the teacher and it is NOT a screen. Love these so much I have already told ALL of my teacher friends, especially those in special education to buy these!
This is seriously so simple yet SO amazing!! My kids are NEVER quiet. They sit and do this and are so creative with. It even came with a second pen so if you have multiple littles ones they can all get in on the action!!!. Now they sit and have fun making thread art together! This is literally so fun all of my kids and even I enjoy doing this. It really does calm you down!
My autistic son has fine motor issues and this tool is WONDERFUL! He detest having to write, trace, etc. but there is something about the sensory aspect and almost free-play of this tool that he loves. Heck, even mom and dad wanted a go at it! I would think most if not all occupational therapists would benefit from this kit in their arsenal. Not to forget teachers as well! I am coming up with ways I can draw a design on the product (that can be wiped off) so that I can have my son not only work his fine motor skills to follow it, but create complex ones where he has to be able to cover the design w/o running out of string. Even being able to start a new string is such a skill. This really has a wide range of possibilities!
