I purchased this camera for ice fishing and let me tell you, it is a game changer. I’ve got a few buddies that have the higher end Marcum or AquaVu cameras and I must say, this camera is equivalent, if not better than those more expensive cameras. The quality is plenty good to vividly see your lure and fish on screen. And it comes at a ridiculously low price compared to those!!! This is a SOLID unit that I would recommend to anyone to use as a “fish finder” or to just have a little bit of fun!
As far as I am concerned it was worth the money AND then some!!!!!!! I have used an expensive high end Marcum and honestly, the clarity is about the same. This model is super versatile you can do whatever fishing you want and for whatever purpose, merely wanted to see what was under the ice in these dingy lakes when I was out drilling holes. I could see much better in the water here even though the lakes are pretty stained. Good all the way deep for me.
This underwater camera is great for ice fishing. I live in the midwest and use it every year for ice fishing. Camera quality is great, very easy to see the different fish and tell what species they are. If you enjoy ice fishing then this camera is a must. Very easy to use and set up and it is very compact. Don't hesitate to buy this. Also to add the whole kit you get for the money is unmatched. I'd buy this camera again in a second.
We had so much fun with this on a recent trip to a lake in New York State! The picture quality was amazing, especially for the price. We used both the regular version in daylight and turned on night vision in lower light conditions. The kids loved seeing the fish swim up to the bait, sometimes bite and sometimes not. In fact, one day after I packed up the camera, one of the boys who continued to fish said, "I feel like I have no idea what's going on down there now" which I reminded him is called "fishing." LOL. I highly recommend this system!
I use this on my kayak, so, using a phone to take a photo of a camera was challenging. The water was murky, but you can still see the side of the boat. However, when the camera is on the bottom, you get a very clear picture. I could tell if it was muddy, gravel, where logs were located, and think it will help to find fish after the water clears some. I turned it on, drop the camera, and it was extremely easy to use. You'll have fun with this. Enjoy!
